Job Summary:
The YMCA of Greater Vancouver is seeking a qualified Before and After School Program Staff to join our team. As an Activity Leader, you will be responsible for providing a safe and inclusive environment for children aged 5-12, facilitating fun and creative activities, and making a positive impact on their lives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work effectively within a staff team to provide an inclusive environment of support, strategies, and resources for children with diverse needs.
- Provide individual support to children within the program setting when required.
- Help to build and contribute to a community environment of global supports and inclusion for all children.
- Help children navigate conflict and role model positive behaviors.
- Contribute to the development, integration, and maintenance of care plans within the program.
- Provide enhanced ratio to support all children in the program.
Requirements:
- Must be at least 19 years of age.
- Experience working with children aged 5-12.
- Emergency First Aid and CRC – C & AED certification.
- 20 hours of training in Child Development, Child Guidance, and/or Nutrition an asset.
What We Offer:
- A competitive hourly rate of $21.00.
- A permanent, part-time position with 30 hours of work per week.
- A flexible schedule with morning and afternoon shifts.
