Salary Range

The estimated annual salary for this role is between $85,000 and $115,000, depending on qualifications and experience.

Job Description

This position will support Robert Wood Johnson Hospital in New Brunswick and Rahway, providing nephrology care to patients with end-stage renal failure or chronic kidney disease. As a Nephrology Care Specialist, you will work closely with healthcare teams to deliver empathetic and compassionate care, leveraging your skills and knowledge to make a meaningful difference in the lives of our patients and their families.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver nephrology care through hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis, continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT), and apheresis
  • Work collaboratively with PCTs to conduct patient observations, measure vital signs, and set up equipment
  • Provide care to patients with multiple co-morbidities, requiring unique treatment plans and broad nursing skills
  • Oversee a group of patients, ensuring timely and effective delivery of care
  • Maintain accurate records and communicate effectively with healthcare teams
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice
  • An Associate's Degree in Nursing (A.D.N) from an accredited school of nursing
  • No prior dialysis experience is required, but experience in ICU, CCU, ER, or Med Surg can be beneficial
  • Certification as a Certified Nephrology Nurse (CNN) or Certified Dialysis Nurse (CDN) is also an asset
