Job Summary:
The District of Saanich is seeking highly skilled and certified Aquatic Safety Specialists to join our team at Saanich Commonwealth Place. As an Aquatic Safety Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and enjoyment of participants in aquatic activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure participants are acting in accordance with facility rules and regulations.
- Conduct regular safety inspections of the facility and equipment to ensure they are in good working condition.
- Lead activities, games, and events that promote a safe and enjoyable experience for users.
- Collaborate with other staff members to develop and implement safety protocols and procedures.
- Provide excellent customer service and respond to participant inquiries and concerns.
Requirements:
- Completion of Grade 10.
- Minimum age of 16 years old.
- Current National Lifeguard Service certification (Waterpark Option).
- Current Cardio pulmonary Resuscitation certification – Level C with AED certification.
- Current Standard First Aid Level 1 certification.
- Over one month, up to and including three months experience.
- Satisfactory police information check.
Working Conditions:
Aquatic Safety Specialists will be required to work varying shifts, including evenings, weekends, and nights. The District of Saanich is an equitable and inclusive employer that values diversity and promotes a safe and respectful work environment.
