Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant to join our client's team in the Greater Montreal area. This is a permanent position that requires a strong background in accounting and finance.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and ensure the accuracy of the branch general ledger.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for the branch.
- Perform bank statement reconciliations.
- Assist in the preparation of branch budgets and forecasts.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
- Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation.
- Oversee and process branch payroll.
- Manage payroll requests and resolve discrepancies.
- Perform regular inventory reconciliations and adjustments.
- Manage the requisition purchase order process.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers.
- Negotiate terms and conditions with suppliers to obtain favorable agreements.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 to 7 years of experience in accounting or finance.
- Solid knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and regulations.
- Proficiency in accounting software (Acumatica an asset) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Bilingualism (English and French).
