About the Role

Vancouver Coastal Health is seeking a skilled Perinatal Nurse Specialist to join our Labour and Delivery unit at Sechelt Hospital. As a key member of our team, you will provide advanced perinatal nursing care to expectant clients, conducting comprehensive nursing assessments and providing care to other assigned medical/surgical patients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide advanced perinatal nursing care to expectant clients, including conducting comprehensive nursing assessments and developing individualized care plans.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to provide holistic care to clients and their families.
  • Enhance quality of life for clients and their families through education, counseling, and support.
  • Consult with other healthcare providers to ensure seamless care coordination.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to advance nursing practice and patient outcomes.

Requirements

  • Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the BC College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
  • Completion of a recognized advanced nursing specialty program in perinatal nursing or two years' recent, related experience.
  • Broad knowledge of nursing theory and practice within a client/family-centered model of care.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as a member of an interdisciplinary team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
