Job Title: Educational Assistant

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Educational Assistant to join our team at the Upper Canada District School Board.

Job Summary:

The Educational Assistant will provide support to students with exceptional needs within the school, working under the direction and supervision of the Principal and in consultation with the Learning Resource Teacher (LRT) and classroom teacher.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the instruction of individual and/or groups of students in an academic and/or integrated class environment
  • Oversee special education students and implement special education programs related to behaviour, communication, intellectual or physical needs, where required
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of specific social/emotional and physical needs of students with learning disabilities, behavioural challenges, developmental disabilities, or physical challenges
Qualifications and Experience:

Incumbents must possess a secondary school diploma and two year or three year Community College Diploma in one of the following: Child & Youth Worker, Registered Early Childhood Educator, Behavioral Science Technician, Educational Assistant, Developmental Services Worker or Social Service Worker, Registered Nurse, Registered Nursing Assistant or Registered Practical Nurse
