Job Summary
As a Pharmacist with CareRx, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate and safe dispensing of prescriptions while providing pharmaceutical patient care. You will work under the general direction of the Pharmacy Manager and bring a specialized approach to our team and clients. With professional knowledge, experience, and a compassionate nature, you will make a positive impact on our residents' lives.
Responsibilities
- Dispense prescriptions, including computer entry, triage of new orders, collation of data, and clinical reviews
- Provide professional functions related to dispensing, including pharmaceutical care, patient counseling, professional opinions, and liaising with other healthcare professionals
- Provide supervision and leadership in the dispensary while on duty
- Evaluate appropriateness of prescription orders with consideration for patient safety and legal requirements
- Complete third-party adjudications necessary to complete prescriptions
- Coordinate and supervise the non-sterile compounding and dispensing of drugs according to medication orders issued by authorized medical care providers
- Blister pack checking and pouch packaging dispensing system checking
- Maintain confidentiality and protect personal and organization information at all times
- Work collaboratively and support efforts of team members
- Participate in an on-call rotation
- Willingsness to lead, take charge, and offer opinions and direction
- Set high standards of performance for self and others
Qualifications
- Licensed and in good standing with the College of Pharmacists of British Columbia
- Expected to adhere to the Standards of Practice with the College of Pharmacists of British Columbia
- Participation in an on-call rotation
- Experience with KROLL Pharmacy software an asset
- Injection Certified
