About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Horticulture Assistant to join our team at Fairmont Banff Springs. As a key member of our Hotel Grounds department, you will play a vital role in maintaining the hotel's interior and exterior spaces to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Horticulturist in maintaining interior plants, including watering, monitoring health, and cleaning.
  • Support the maintenance and care of arrangements and seasonal plants as required.
  • Perform labor-intensive tasks such as shoveling, lifting, pushing, walking, digging, and other assorted duties.
  • Contribute to the upkeep of gardens and plant containers throughout the property during the summer months.
  • Participate in holiday decorations and snow removal during the winter season.
Requirements
  • Previous experience as a gardener or in a greenhouse/nursery is an asset.
  • Strong ability in indoor and outdoor plant care is preferred.
  • Must have a Class 5 driver's license and a driver's abstract in good standing.
  • Ability to work in a variety of temperatures and conditions, including snow, heat, and rain.
  • Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and strong organizational skills.
