About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Die Repairer to join our team at APEX ALUMINUM EXTRUSIONS LTD. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality of our products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inspect final products to ensure they meet our quality standards.
  • Set up machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, and grinders to produce high-precision parts.
  • Test prototypes and production tools to ensure they are functioning correctly.
  • Verify machined parts for conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments.
  • Program CNC machine tools to produce complex parts.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings, and specifications to understand production requirements.
  • Realize machine castings to make metal molds, core boxes, and precisely shaped models.
  • Set up and operate electrical discharge machines (EDM) to produce high-precision parts.
  • Lay out, shape, and assemble patterns of metal, wood, plastic, and other materials from blueprints, models, or templates.
  • Position, secure, measure, and work metal stock or castings to lay out for machining.
  • Set up and operate conventional and computer-controlled machine tools to produce high-precision parts.
Requirements
  • Tool and Die Maker Trade Certification is required.
  • Proficiency in Unigraphics, AutoCAD, CATIA, SAP, and SolidWorks software is essential.
  • Experience with Ultrasonic, Plasma ARC, Laser beam, and Water jet machining processes is an asset.
  • Experience with Blow moulds, Injection moulds, Compression moulds, Transfer moulds, Rotational moulds, and Thermal forming moulds is an asset.
  • Experience with Metal patternmaking, Core boxes, Production pattern equipment, and Foundry match plate work is an asset.
  • Experience with Gauge blocks, Jigs and fixtures, Metal cutting, forming, or bending dies, Compound or progressive transfer dies, Forging die, and Extrusion dies is an asset.
  • Fast-paced environment and Handling heavy loads are required.
  • Attention to detail, Hand-eye co-ordination, and Standing for extended periods are required.
  • Overtime required due to production demands.
