Job Description

The Seneca Polytechnic is seeking an experienced Computer Science Professor to join our Faculty of Applied Science & Engineering Technology (FASET). As a member of our team, you will be responsible for developing, preparing, and delivering courses in data structures and algorithms. This role offers the opportunity to work with students, industry partners, and colleagues to create innovative learning experiences.

Responsibilities
  • Teaching: Ensure student awareness of course objectives, approach, and evaluation techniques. Carry out regularly scheduled instruction, including tutoring and academic counselling of students. Provide a learning environment that makes effective use of available resources, work experience, and field trips. Evaluate student progress/achievement and assume responsibility for the overall assessment of the student's work within assigned courses.
  • Course and Curriculum Development: Consult with program and course directors, other faculty members, advisory committees, accrediting agencies, potential employers, and students. Define course objectives and evaluate and validate these objectives. Specify or approve learning approaches, necessary resources, etc. Develop individualized instruction and multi-media presentations where applicable. Select or approve textbooks and learning materials.
  • Academic Leadership: Provide guidance to Instructors relative to their teaching assignments. Participate in the work of curriculum and other consultative committees as requested. Lead academic activities such as applied research. Contribute to other activity areas ancillary to the school's academic programs, such as secondary school liaison and outreach.
