Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Student, Quantitative Analyst to join our team at OMERS Capital Markets. As a key member of our global credit team, you will be responsible for developing and enhancing portfolio management and analytic tools, maintaining and optimizing existing reporting and dashboard systems, and working collaboratively with portfolio managers to provide quantitative support for investment decisions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and enhance portfolio management and analytic tools to support day-to-day portfolio monitoring processes
  • Maintain and optimize existing reporting and dashboard systems to ensure data quality and accuracy
  • Improve automation and data quality checks to streamline data collection processes
  • Work collaboratively with portfolio managers to provide quantitative support for investment decisions
  • Engage with partner teams to define, document, and implement automated processes for daily support
  • Conduct performance analysis, attribution, monitoring, and reporting, and effectively communicate findings with stakeholders
  • Utilize programming skills for back-testing investment strategies
Requirements
  • Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in Mathematical Finance, Quantitative Finance, Financial Analysis and Risk Management, Computer Science, or similar program
  • Proven track record of strong academic and extracurricular achievements
  • Strong object-oriented programming skills (Python, SQL, etc.)
  • Proficient in SQL and experience with large data sets
  • Experience with Power BI/Tableau is preferred
  • Excellent analytical skills and a high attention to detail
  • Interest and knowledge of global financial and capital markets
  • Commitment to learning and intellectual curiosity, with a passion for investing
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with strong written and verbal communication skills
