About the Role

As a Senior Electrical Engineering Professional at Smith + Andersen, you will have the opportunity to lead electrical project management initiatives and contribute to the success of our team.

Job Summary

  • Develop and implement electrical system engineering concepts, including design briefs and concept reports.
  • Manage and coordinate with internal and external project teams, ensuring timely completion of tasks and projects.
  • Maintain knowledge of provincial building codes, electrical codes, CSA standards, ULC standards, IEEE standards, IES standards, and NFPA standards.
  • Coordinate with other consultants, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Prepare and review all project deliverables, including reports, calculations, drawings, and specifications.
  • Liaise with clients, owners, and authorities having jurisdiction to communicate project requirements and progress.

Requirements

  • 8-10 years of project engineering experience in electrical building services, with at least 3 years at a PM level.
  • Strong electrical design capabilities and ability to work independently.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer in Ontario or senior C.E.T. with equivalent experience and abilities.
  • LEED Accreditation or experience implementing sustainable design (LEED or Net-zero projects) is an asset.
  • Able to handle multiple projects and clients.
  • Sound communication skills, demonstrated through client and staff relations.
  • Demonstrates initiative and practical problem-solving.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
