About QuadReal MEIT (Mechanical, Electrical & Information Technology)

QuadReal has innovated the way developers manage complex technical scopes through the creation of a specialized in-house MEIT Team.

The team comprises subject matter experts responsible for all MEIT scopes, including technologies such as audio visual, CCTV, access control, IoT sensors, smart building applications, and sub-systems under the typical mechanical and electrical scope umbrella.

The MEIT Team delivers targeted focus and disciplined expertise to enhance QuadReal's ability to design, procure, execute, commission, and operationalize technical systems.

The team collaborates with QuadReal development teams and project stakeholders to ensure objectives are met from design through to project delivery.

Reporting to the Digital Buildings group, the MEIT Team contributes to the goal of creating intelligent built-environments, enhancing the value of buildings, driving resilient financial returns, and providing differentiated experiences for those who visit, work, shop, or live in QuadReal spaces.

Job Summary

We are seeking an Electrical Project Manager to lead the design, procurement, and execution of electrical scopes throughout the QuadReal development portfolio.

The successful candidate will provide technical leadership and successfully deliver electrical scopes, ensuring cross-discipline coordination and collaboration with general contractors, construction managers, consultants, and other stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Manage system design, costing, procurement, construction, testing, commissioning, and operational implementation of electrical scopes.
  2. Work closely with consultant RFPs and selection, collaborating with selected consultants through the design stages.
  3. Steer design with QuadReal divisional specifications and guidelines to ensure projects meet standards and requirements.
  4. Manage subcontractor selection and tender processes, reviewing submissions and raw data to ensure unbiased selections.
  5. Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers, manufacturers, authorities having jurisdiction, design consultants, and engineers to facilitate project execution.
  6. Manage multiple projects simultaneously, staying organized and meeting commitment dates.
  7. Utilize subject matter expertise to resolve issues timely, supporting project schedules and deliverables.
  8. Collaborate with QuadReal leadership teams to present design updates, contract status, construction progress, and cost monitoring reports.
  9. Identify opportunities for value engineering and innovative solutions to meet or beat budgets and schedule requirements.
  10. Close out projects successfully, completing testing and commissioning, warranties, deficiencies rectification, and obtaining operations and maintenance documentation.

Requirements

  • Minimum 7 years of electrical system project management experience on large-scale, complex, multi-phased, fast-track projects.
  • In-depth knowledge of electrical building design, local building codes, and by-laws.
  • Established relationships within the industry, including suppliers, manufacturers, authorities having jurisdiction, design consultants, and engineers.
  • PMP, GSC, or other management-related certifications, diplomas, and/or degrees an asset.
  • Experience working on large real-estate development projects, with multiple stakeholders an asset.

Estimated Salary Range: $130,000 - $145,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience.
