The ideal candidate will work closely with managers responsible for flight and aircraft maintenance operations to coordinate efforts and ensure a safe, healthy, and environmentally friendly workplace. This role will play a crucial part in maintaining a risk-free environment for our employees and contractors, while also promoting sustainability.
The Role We're Offering- Develop, implement, and maintain safety programs and certifications, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with local and federal regulations.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify hazards, assess risks, and implement corrective actions.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses to determine root causes and recommend preventative measures.
- Develop and coordinate HSE targets and objectives, monitoring performance indicators to report monthly to on-site management, D&S Canada QEHS Manager, and Global HSE.
- Review and update the annual HSE manual, training employees and managers on new procedures.
- Oversee and participate in Occupational Health and Safety Committee responsibilities.
- Facilitate health and safety new employee orientations and other training sessions.
- Drive environmental and sustainability efforts forward to meet our targets.
We're looking for a highly skilled and experienced professional with a post-secondary certificate, diploma, or degree in a safety or training specialization. Holding or working towards a CRSP designation is a plus. Our ideal candidate has a minimum of five to eight years of experience in an onsite health and safety role, with demonstrated progressive increase in responsibility.
Experience in the aviation, industrial, or construction industry is considered an asset. The successful candidate will possess strong time management, prioritization, and communication skills, with the ability to train, coach, and influence others. They will also have a strong sense of professionalism, attention to detail, and a positive team attitude.
