We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Child and Youth Worker to join our team at Anew Centre for Healing Ltd. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in providing support and care to children and youth in our group home setting.
Key Responsibilities- Case Management: Develop and implement individualized care plans to meet the unique needs of each child and youth.
- Support and Guidance: Provide emotional support, guidance, and mentorship to children and youth, promoting their physical, emotional, and social well-being.
- Assessment and Reporting: Conduct regular assessments to identify strengths and areas of need, and prepare comprehensive reports to inform care planning and decision-making.
- Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with colleagues, families, and community agencies to ensure seamless care coordination and effective communication.
- Training and Development: Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance skills and knowledge in areas such as crisis intervention, trauma-informed care, and cultural competency.
- Education: College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1-2 years.
- Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a related field.
- Certifications: Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST), Non-violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) Certificate, Cultural Awareness Training, Medication Administration Certificate, First Aid Certificate, CPR Certificate, and Food Safety Certificate.
- Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team, and strong problem-solving and crisis management skills.
