PepsiCo Beverages Packaging Machine Mechanic Job Description

The Packaging Machine Mechanic is a skilled position responsible for repairing and installing production equipment at the Calgary Facility. This individual contributes to the success of PepsiCo Beverages Canada by ensuring the proper functioning of equipment, performing preventative maintenance duties, and diagnosing equipment malfunctions for repairs and adjustments as needed.

This is a full-time position that requires open availability, including weekends. The successful candidate will work in a multi-department team environment and be able to work with machine shop tools and welders in a safe and productive setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on production equipment.
  • Repair building systems.
  • Changeover production line equipment.
  • Upgrade areas with new equipment/technology, working with outside contractors.
  • Interact daily with computerized maintenance and parts programs.
  • Perform all assigned duties in a safe and productive manner.
  • Follow the direction of Maintenance Lead hand, Supervisors, and Department Managers.
  • Able to work in a multi-department team environment.
  • Keep work area orderly and clean.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma (or equivalent) preferred.
  • Must be a 609C Certified Packaging Machine Mechanic.
  • Class 4 Power Engineer Certificate is an asset (PepsiCo will pay for training courses).
  • Knowledge of machine control systems, safety control systems, and troubleshooting them.
  • Willing to contribute and dedicated to reducing our environmental footprint.
  • Bottle and Can Line maintenance experience in the food/packaged goods industry is an asset.
  • Able to lift/carry 50-85 lbs. Able to push/pull up to 50 lbs.
  • Able to perform frequent standing, bending, twisting, crawling, kneeling, squatting, climbing, reaching, and grasping.
  • Able to work shifts and overtime as required.
