We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Indigenous Recruiter to join our team at Interior Health Authority. As an Indigenous Recruiter, you will play a vital role in implementing our Indigenous Employee Experience strategy across the Interior region.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with IH leaders and managers to promote work opportunities to Indigenous candidates.
- Provide Indigenous-focused candidate sourcing advice and guidance to hiring managers and other members of the Recruitment team.
- Work alongside other Recruiters to prescreen and short-list Indigenous candidates as per manager specifications.
- Assist the recruitment team's marketing specialists with development of culturally sensitive marketing materials.
- Provide HR guidance to managers on interview and selection of external Indigenous applicants.
- Support and guide managers and members of the Recruitment team around Section 42.
- Provide recruitment support to hiring managers of Indigenous-specific job postings, including conducting needs analysis, applicant reviews, prescreening, and other recruitment-related duties as requested by the hiring manager.
- Create and maintain a database of relationships both internally and externally for the purposes of sharing opportunities, seeking funding supports, and updates that are relevant to Indigenous recruitment.
- Participate in meetings and working groups as assigned.
- Work with the Indigenous Employment Advisor to promote candidate and employee self-identification.
- Actively advocate for Indigenous representation and inclusion within the organization, ensuring that recruitment strategies align with these goals.
- Maintain effective working relationships with representatives from academic institutions, professional associations, recruitment agencies, and other organizations to further promote healthcare careers to members of IH-region First Nations Communities, to members of the BC Métis Nation, to urban and 'away-from-home' Indigenous Peoples.
- Refer job candidates requiring application and interview-preparation support to the Indigenous Employment Advisor.
- Support the recruitment team to gather Indigenous candidate and recruitment data and collate and report on this data.
- Ensure all reporting is up to date, including Section 42 reports.
- Represent IH at related recruitment functions (e.g., job fairs).
