Role Overview
NorWest Community Health Centres is a community-based, non-profit organization emphasizing access to primary health care and prevention programs and services. We are seeking a skilled Health Promoter to work closely with our multidisciplinary team in providing comprehensive support and resources for individuals facing homelessness and addiction.

About the Position
This 1 FTE contract role will remain open until filled. The successful candidate will have a competitive salary, the Health Care of Ontario Pension Plan, and an excellent group health benefit package. Key qualifications include a Bachelor Degree in public health, health promotion, social work, or a related field, as well as three to five years' experience working in a community health setting. Strong communication skills and the ability to work sensitively with individuals from diverse backgrounds are essential.

Key Responsibilities
The Health Promoter will work closely with our team to provide health education, support, group programming, and advocacy for individuals who face barriers to accessing traditional healthcare. This includes organizing community-based programs, engaging in community events, and raising awareness of our programs and services. A strong understanding of trauma-informed care and culturally safer care practices is necessary for this role. Additionally, the candidate must be able to develop/maintain collaborative partnerships and advocate for health equity. Our ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and have demonstrated experience in working within an interdisciplinary team model of care.
