Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Wind Turbine Technician to join our team at Siemens Gamesa. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing and reporting on various troubleshooting tasks, turbine inspections, and repairs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform and report on troubleshooting tasks, turbine inspections, and repairs
  • Assist in the maintenance and repair of wind turbine equipment, including electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems
  • Test and inspect electrical components and systems, as well as mechanical and hydraulic systems
  • Perform maintenance on wind turbine equipment, including troubleshooting electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic malfunctions
  • Replace worn or malfunctioning components
  • Assist in the identification of process improvements, including reduction of non-value-added operations, increased productivity opportunities, and increased safety opportunities
  • Inspect, diagnose, adjust, and repair components in the wind turbine
  • Inspect the exterior and physical integrity of towers and blades

Requirements

  • High School Graduate/GED/Equivalent Work
  • 1-2 Years of Related Work Experience
  • Gearbox/Generator Repairs and Inspection Knowledge
  • Familiarity with Gamesa and/or Siemens Mechanical/Electrical turbine operation
  • Microsoft Excel, Word
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
  • Legally authorized for employment in Canada

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ Years of Experience
  • Drivetrain Experience
  • Borescope Experience
  • Gamesa Platform Experience
  • Proven ability to lead repair teams with little to no supervision

Compensation

The wage range for this role is $61,000 CAD - $91,000 CAD, depending on experience and qualifications.
