Job Summary

At SmartStyle Hair Salon, we're dedicated to making people look good and feel beautiful. As a hairstylist, you'll play a key role in delivering exceptional customer experiences and exceeding expectations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Customer Service: Provide friendly, professional service to customers, ensuring their satisfaction is of utmost importance.
  • Consultation and Consultative Selling: Utilize a thorough consultation procedure to understand customer needs and preferences, and make recommendations to exceed their expectations.
  • Technical Skills: Wash, shampoo, condition, and rinse hair; cut, trim, and style hair using clippers, scissors, trimmers, razors, and hot tools; perm, highlight, and color hair based on customer instructions.
  • Workplace Maintenance: Maintain a clean and organized workstation, and sanitize tools and equipment.
  • Product Recommendations: Recommend products to help customers maintain their hairstyles between salon visits.
  • Administrative Tasks: Perform receptionist duties when necessary, and assist with opening and closing procedures.
  • Inventory Management: Assist with counting retail product inventory.
Requirements
  • Education: Successful completion of cosmetology curriculum.
  • Experience: Experience as a stylist is an asset, but new graduates are welcome.
  • Licenses/Certifications: Valid Ontario Cosmetology License or currently enrolled in school to obtain the required license.
  • Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication, exceptional customer service, service orientation, time management, and positive energy.
