Job Title: Golf Course Mechanic

About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Golf Course Mechanic to join our Turfcare team at The Glencoe Golf & Country Club. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing our equipment fleet to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and repair equipment to ensure optimal performance and efficiency
  • Schedule and complete routine equipment maintenance and repairs, ensuring quality control and adherence to procedures
  • Implement and ensure compliance with OH&S standards, including recordkeeping of preventative maintenance and equipment inspections
  • Address and resolve hourly Turfcare team equipment concerns and questions
  • Assist with development and implementation of annual operating and capital budgets for equipment repair and maintenance
  • Staff management and administration, including training employees on safety equipment and procedures
  • Ensure effective communication between members, staff, and the Turfcare Management team

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience as a Mechanic, including experience with golf course equipment operation and maintenance
  • Education and/or working knowledge of small engines and diesel engines, troubleshooting electrical and/or hydraulic systems
  • Demonstrated team player with leadership competencies and a commitment to creating a respectful working environment
  • Valid class 5 driver's license and ability to work in Canada
  • Access to reliable transportation, as public transportation is not available to our location

Additional Details:

This is a permanent, year-round, full-time position reporting to the Equipment Manager. Shifts may include weekdays, weekends, and evenings. The successful candidate will work alongside and report to the Golf Course Superintendent.

The successful applicant will be required to complete a background check and online certifications prior to commencing employment.
