About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Internal Control Testing Specialist to join our team at Nav Canada. As a key member of our Internal Control Office, you will play a critical role in ensuring the effectiveness of our internal controls and risk management processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the development and implementation of our annual risk-based Internal Control Office test plan.
  • Execute testing of system-related internal controls over financial reporting (ICFR) and disclosure controls and procedures (DC&P).
  • Conduct control reviews of ICFR or DC&P business process changes.
  • Provide input to senior management on regular briefings, including assistance in preparing annual and quarterly reports to support internal control certification and quarterly reporting to the Ethics Committee.
  • Identify opportunities to replace manual controls with automated controls.
  • Stay current on trends in financial reporting systems, monitor evolving technology capabilities, and apply them to testing methodologies.
Requirements
  • Specialized accounting and information systems knowledge and education.
  • CPA designation or two of the following designations - CISA, CRISC, CIA, CFE.
  • Seasoned financial/technology professional with broad experience in accounting, financial application development, testing, and delivery.
  • Strong understanding of COSO and COBIT frameworks or equivalent.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
