Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Early Childhood Educator to join our team at the YMCA of Three Rivers. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and education to young children in our communities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide exceptional care and support to children and their families, fostering a nurturing and inclusive environment.
  • Build strong relationships with children, parents, and families, promoting a sense of belonging and community.
  • Engage in creative play and learning activities, making education fun and interactive.
  • Ensure the supervision and safety of children at all times, adhering to provincial, municipal, and YMCA policies and procedures.
  • Observe and document children's learning opportunities, expanding on their development and interactions.
  • Listen to and respond to children's needs, including diapering and assisting with toileting.
  • Clean and sanitize child care spaces, toys, and equipment, maintaining a healthy and safe environment.
  • Participate in required curriculum training and professional development opportunities, maintaining qualifications and certifications as required by the YMCA and provincial standards.
Requirements
  • Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE) or Early Child Care Educator (ECE) diploma or degree.
  • Valid Standard First Aid and CPR Level C certification prior to the first day of work.
  • Up-to-date immunizations required by Public Health.
  • Ability to use frequent light to medium physical effort, lifting up to 20 kg (44 lbs.), bending, and stooping.
  • Ability to work outdoors for at least 1 hour daily year-round, exposed to varying weather conditions.
  • Flexibility and adaptability regarding assigned working hours.
  • Commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and building a sense of belonging.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
