Job Summary

At Davidson Contract Services, we are seeking an experienced Truck Technician to join our team. As a Truck Technician, you will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of commercial transport truck systems, ensuring our fleet is in top condition to meet the demands of our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Adjust, repair or replace parts and components of commercial transport truck systems
  • Confirm findings with supervisor to determine whether to repair or replace unit
  • Discuss work with supervisor
  • Inspect and test mechanical units to locate faults and malfunctions
  • Inspect mechanical units to locate faults and malfunctions
  • Review work orders
  • Adjust, repair or replace parts and components of automotive systems
  • Adjust, repair or replace parts and components of truck-trailer systems
  • Repair or replace mechanical units or components
  • Test and adjust repaired systems to manufacturer's specifications
  • Estimate parts and labour cost to perform vehicle maintenance and repairs
  • Perform scheduled maintenance service
  • Test and adjust units to specifications
  • Coach and instruct apprentices
Requirements
  • Truck and Transport Mechanic Trade Certification
  • Area of specialization: Engine repair, Electrical and electronic system, Diesel engines, Diagnostics, Alignment, steering and suspension, Brake system, Hydraulic system, Fuel and emission system, Ignition and electrical system, Automatic transmission, Standard transmission, Engine repair and overhaul, Drive train components, Heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) system
  • Mechanical transmissions
  • Work conditions and physical capabilities: Fast-paced environment, Attention to detail, Manual dexterity
