Job Description:

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Interpreting welding process specifications and operating manual or semi-automatic, fully automated welding equipment.
  • Reading and interpreting welding blueprints, drawings specifications, manuals and processes.
  • Examining welds and ensuring that they meet standards and/or specifications.
  • Operating manual or semi-automatic flame-cutting equipment and computer-aided design (CAD).
  • Fitting, brazing and torch-straightening metal, and operating oxygen arc cutting equipment (arc-air), (AOC).
  • Determining weldability of materials and operating hoisting and lifting equipment.
  • Operating previously set-up welding machines to fabricate or repair metal parts and products.
  • Maintaining and performing minor repairs on welding, brazing and soldering equipment.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Pressure Welding Certification and Welder Trade Red Seal Certificate.
  • Level one to five apprenticeship training.
  • Experience working with aluminum alloys, copper and copper alloys, stainless steel, steel, iron and heavy metals.
  • Knowledge of flux core arc welding (FCAW), fusion welds, and laser welding techniques.
  • Experience with arc welding machines and machinery or equipment repair.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, handle heavy loads, and stand for extended periods.
