The Town of Paradise is seeking a skilled Mechanic to join its Public Works Department.

Job Summary

This is a unionized position responsible for the repair and maintenance of the Town's fleet of heavy equipment and light duty vehicles.

Key Responsibilities

  • Repair and maintain heavy equipment and light duty vehicles;
  • Work under the general direction of the Forepersons, Transportation Services;
  • Perform safety courses and maintain a valid driver's license;
  • Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing;
  • Meet the physical and medical requirements of the position.

Requirements

  • A Red Seal Interprovincial Journeyman Certificate as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic;
  • Registration and good standing with the Province of Newfoundland and Labrador;
  • At least three (3) years' experience in repair of automobiles and heavy equipment;
  • General computer and software diagnostics skills.
