About the Role

The Insulation General Foreperson will assist in the supervision, coordination, and scheduling of construction activities for their dedicated scope. Key responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining excellent relationships with clients, engineers, consultants, subcontractors, and public
  • Ensuring all work is conducted in a safe manner in compliance with safety, quality, and human performance policies
  • Utilizing the project master schedule to create detailed look-ahead schedules for forecasting and planning
  • Assisting in developing recovery strategies when the project schedule or budget are in jeopardy
  • Planning and approving the work of own forces and subcontractors on the project, including determining methods of construction, manpower levels, materials, tools, and equipment, rentals, and work schedules
  • Assuming responsibility for the efficient use of materials and equipment and contractual performance of the project
  • Ensuring trades personnel complete all necessary training in areas of safety, quality assurance, technical qualifications, equipment operation, and owner-specified requirements
  • Ensuring the project is constructed in compliance with drawings, specifications, Field Work Packages (FWPs), Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), and project schedule and budget
  • Interfacing with client representatives, design engineers, consultants, other contractors, etc., as required
  • Ensuring the work is carried out in accordance with QA Programs and project quality guidelines
  • Maintaining appropriate field documentation, including safety records, daily progress reports, training records, T&E, and rental records, manpower reports, owner support requests, FWP documents, etc.
  • Participating in basic layout, preparation of work instructions, field engineering activities, etc.
  • Overseeing and directly supporting work during the execution phase, including monitoring for performance, provision of guidance to the field team, reporting to line management, leading problem-solving efforts, and development of adverse condition recovery plans
  • Ensuring the project is constructed in compliance with drawings, specifications/codes, and CITP's
  • Identifying and supporting CITP and/or DCN revisions as necessary to support field work
  • Ensuring the work is carried out in accordance with QA Programs and project quality guidelines
  • Managing and maintaining OPEX in the project database for future use
  • Attending and participating in the Plan of the Day and other meetings as required
  • Coordinating Foreperson and execution crew in the execution of their assigned duties
  • Coordinating across all functions of the project as required to achieve task goals
  • Providing leadership to Field supervisors, Coordinators, and respective Craft Labor
  • Other duties as required

What You Bring to the Team

  • Minimum 5-10 years of construction supervision experience
  • Must possess Insulation Certification of Qualification or equivalent combination of technical training and/or related experience
  • Ability to successfully coordinate a construction project
  • Knowledge of all aspects of construction, including technology, equipment, methods, trade agreements, and jurisdiction, engineering, cost control, scheduling, and safety requirements
  • Good communication, organizational, and supervisory skills are essential
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Basic presentation skills
  • Basic blueprint understanding
  • Nuclear experience is an asset, including vault work
