Job Summary
We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Mental Health Professional to provide goal-focused psychotherapy to clients, primarily military veterans, with mental health and psychosocial problems. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with our interdisciplinary team to develop and implement treatment plans, provide social work assessments and interventions, and participate in team conferences to discuss client progress and goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide clients with goal-focused psychotherapy to address mental health and psychosocial problems.
- Conduct social work assessments and provide interventions to improve social and community functioning.
- Utilize a cognitive-behavioral approach to intervention based on an overall client-centered philosophy.
- Provide group psychoeducational services.
- Participate in interdisciplinary team conferences to discuss client treatment plans and goals.
- Deliver quality reporting and effective communication with stakeholders.
Requirements
- Masters Degree in Social Work.
- Registration with the Nova Scotia College of Social Workers as an autonomous practitioner in good standing.
- 2+ years of experience in case conceptualization and psychotherapy/social work intervention for a range of mental health symptoms and psychosocial barriers.
- Experience providing social work services to military, first responders, and veterans an asset.
- Experience working as part of a multi/interdisciplinary team.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, autonomy, and integrity.
