Job Summary:
The Payroll and Benefits Specialist will manage the full-cycle payroll process and benefits administration for Combined Metal Industries.
This role ensures accurate and timely payroll, compliance with tax regulations, and financial reporting.
Main Responsibilities:
- Process bi-weekly payroll for all employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Ensure income tax compliance, including deductions, remittances, and year-end reporting.
- Process T4s, Records of Employment (ROEs), and WSIB & EI submissions.
- Manage garnishments, wage deductions, and statutory compliance reporting.
- Ensure accurate tracking of hours worked, overtime, and leave balances.
- Audit and reconcile payroll records to detect and resolve discrepancies.
Payroll & Benefits Support:
- Maintain and update employee benefits enrollment and changes.
- Address payroll-related employee inquiries regarding pay, deductions, and benefits.
- Process termination pay, severance, and outstanding vacation balances.
- Prepare and reconcile payroll journal entries and upload data to the accounting system.
- Manage RRSP contributions, general ledger (GL) entries, and accruals.
- Support quarterly and annual audits with payroll and benefits documentation.
