Job Title: Class G Driver

We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-oriented Class G driver to join our team at Cooper Equipment Rentals.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering and picking up heavy construction equipment, maintaining accurate delivery and pickup records, and providing excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Load and unload equipment, securing it per company procedure and inspecting in transit if necessary
  • Deliver and pick up equipment, ensuring timely and efficient service
  • Maintain accurate delivery and pickup records, providing transparency and accountability
  • Secure customer signature on contract, if not already signed
  • Inform supervisor of difficulties with deliveries or pickups, ensuring prompt resolution
  • Inform management of new sales opportunities and job sites, driving business growth
  • Double-check delivered items to ensure customers receive exactly what they ordered
  • Communicate with dispatch if behind schedule, notifying customers and ensuring minimal disruption
  • Instruct customers on equipment operation, providing excellent customer service
  • Perform vehicle inspections daily, checking gas, oil, and other fluid levels to ensure safe and efficient operation
Requirements:
  • Valid Class G driver's license with a driver's abstract (no more than three demerit points)
  • Familiarity with local roads and ability to navigate safely
  • Experience with operating and delivering heavy construction equipment is an asset
  • Availability to work overtime when required, ensuring flexibility and adaptability
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and resolve issues efficiently
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to converse with colleagues, customers, and other parties in a professional and courteous manner
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision
