Job Title: Chaplain - Sheridan Villa Long Term Care

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Chaplain to join our team at Sheridan Villa Long Term Care Centre. As an Independent Contractor, you will provide spiritual support and care to our residents and clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide approximately 30 hours of spiritual care services per month, with flexible scheduling to meet the needs of the Centre.
  • Develop and implement a spiritual care program, including worship services, individual and group spiritual programs, and pastoral support.
  • Liaise with community faith leaders to develop a pastoral care committee and ensure residents' spiritual needs are met.
  • Provide memorial services, grief and bereavement support, crisis intervention, and ethical guidance as needed.
  • Participate in centre committees, such as the Pastoral Care Committee and Palliative Care Committee.
  • Demonstrate a person-centred approach to service delivery and work collaboratively with the care team.
  • Complete necessary documentation and maintain accurate records.
  • Complete required education and training as directed by the Region of Peel.
Requirements:
  • Member in good standing of the Canadian Association for Pastoral Practice and Education (CAPPE).
  • Degree in Theology or Divinity (asset).
  • Proof of General Liability Insurance ($2,000,000).
  • Minimum 2-3 years experience in a related long term care/retirement environment and/or experience working with older adults.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and customer service skills.
  • Experience working within a multidisciplinary care team.
Location and Duration:

Sheridan Villa LTC, Mississauga. One year contract with potential for additional year extension.

Compensation:

Based on contract terms. The contractor shall be responsible for submitting invoices to the Region on a monthly basis.
