Job Summary:

The Program Tutor is a key member of the Banff Avenue Community House team, responsible for delivering high-quality francophone children's academic and social development programming. This role requires a leader who can innovate and create engaging learning experiences for children aged 6-13.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement educational programs that cater to the needs of francophone children, promoting their academic and social growth.
  • Collaborate with community members, staff, and stakeholders to build strong relationships and ensure a holistic approach to supporting vulnerable children and families.
  • Utilize a strong understanding of anti-oppressive practices and the lived realities of the community served to inform program development and delivery.
  • Work closely with the Executive Director and other team members to achieve program goals and objectives.
  • Stay up-to-date with best practices in education and child development, incorporating new ideas and approaches into program design and delivery.

Requirements:

  • University degree and/or college diploma in Education, Child/Youth Studies, Social Work, or equivalent experience in the field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience tutoring children in numeracy and/or literacy.
  • Strong understanding of the barriers faced by marginalized, racialized, and/or at-risk clients in society.
  • Excellent computer proficiency in a wide range of applications and platforms.
