Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Estimator to join our team. As an Electrical Estimator, you will play a key role in preparing and submitting tender prices for various projects of all sizes and scope.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and assemble estimates, including labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor pricing.
- Conduct quantity takeoffs and enter data into a computerized estimating system.
- Prepare and submit documents to ensure all bid requirements are met.
- Gather information for labor breakdowns to assist with budget creation and management of projects.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize workload effectively.
- Attend site visits, pre-bid meetings, and post-bid meetings as required.
- Participate in estimating turnover meetings with project teams to assist with planning and budgeting.
- Establish strong relationships with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure sound and competitive pricing.
- Review project schematics to strategize on the best approach for submissions.
Requirements
- Minimum 2-4 years of experience in electrical estimating, BAS controls wiring, and mechanical wiring.
- Post-secondary diploma in electrical or construction technology, or other relevant technology field.
- Experience in an electrical contracting trade or industry certification, including Certified Quantity Surveyor and/or Certified Construction Estimator.
- Working knowledge of Autobid and Trimble or equivalent.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, time management, and multi-tasking skills.
- Self-motivated with a strong willingness and ability to learn and be challenged.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
