We are seeking a skilled Health Care Aide to join our team at The Good Samaritan Society. As a patient support specialist, you will play a vital role in ensuring the well-being and dignity of our residents.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to deliver high-quality care that respects resident choice and autonomy
  • Recognize and respond to individualized needs, advocating for residents' rights and interests
  • Engage in activities of daily living, such as bathing, dressing, and meal service, while promoting independence and dignity
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive care plans, aligning with GSS/GSC Standards of Care
  • Promote teamwork by sharing knowledge and expertise to enhance resident care

Requirements:

  • Recognized Health Care Aide Certificate or equivalent
  • Grade 12 or GED
  • First Aid certification
  • Alberta: Registration with the Alberta Health Care Aide Directory
  • Alberta: Food Safe Basic or equivalent
  • BC: Registration with the BC Care Aide and Community Health Worker Registry
  • BC: Food Safe 1 (post July 29, 2013) or equivalent
  • Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to deal courteously and positively with residents, family members, visitors, and colleagues
