About the Role
Catholic Independent Schools of Vancouver Archdiocese is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Education Support Specialist to join our team. As an integral part of our school-based team, you will provide educational assistance to students, supporting their academic and personal growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Support students to maximize participation and learning in an inclusive environment
- Supplement and extend the instructional and management functions of teachers and other professional personnel
- Assist teachers in designing and implementing individualized or group communication skills, behavioural support, learning support or life-skills
- Assist in the collection of data, including observations and recording of academic and behavioural progress
- Attend to and provide personal care as required
- Interact with students in a professional and effective manner
- Participate in school-based team meetings and IEP meetings as required
Requirements
- Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent
- EA certification
- Current first aid course
- Experience working with students and/or adults with exceptionalities
