About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Machine Technician to join our ID Systems group. As a Machine Technician, you will work directly with our customers to maintain and repair their border management systems, including hardware and software installations and creating documentation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor customers' operations and perform basic hardware repair and maintenance of workstations, high-speed and desktop automated printers, laminators, power supplies, UPS batteries, etc.
  • Triage customer issues and perform 1st-level support for hardware, software, and basic networking problems.
  • Become a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the entire solution and the high-speed printers, acquiring the skills and knowledge to travel independently to customer sites to troubleshoot, plan, and perform hardware and software installations, and create documentation.
  • Travel to customer sites to perform preventive maintenance and repairs, and liaise directly with customers.
Requirements
  • Formal education in electrical or mechanical engineering.
  • 2-3 years of experience providing client-facing technical support.
  • Customer service focused.
  • Passionate about technology and learning.
  • Good problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Government of Canada Secret (Level II) clearance.
  • Valid passport.
  • Ability to travel to customer sites.
