We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Unit Clerk to join our Surgical Services team at Royal Columbian Hospital. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and administrative support to our healthcare professionals.
Key Responsibilities- Transcribe and process physicians' orders, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Schedule and coordinate patient appointments, tests, and procedures.
- Act as a communication link between departments, hospitals, and facilities, exchanging information and coordinating patient care.
- Assemble and maintain patient charts, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information.
- Perform related clerical duties, including data entry, filing, and maintaining records.
- Provide exceptional customer service, answering phone calls, and responding to inquiries.
- Grade 12, medical terminology, and graduation from a recognized Nursing Unit Clerk program.
- One year of recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to deal with others effectively, demonstrating empathy and professionalism.
- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
