Work Site EnvironmentThe successful candidate will be required to work at heights, in noisy environments, and will be exposed to various locations, including construction and renovation sites.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools.
- Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials.
- Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring and erect walls and roof systems.
- Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings and hardware.
- Schedule and co-ordinate work on sites.
- Estimate costs and materials.
- Maintain, repair and renovate residences and wooden structures in mills, mines, hospitals, industrial plants and other establishments.
The successful candidate will be required to perform tasks that involve bending, crouching, kneeling, and a combination of sitting, standing and walking. Overtime may be required, and the position is physically demanding.
Personal SuitabilityWe are looking for a candidate who is a client-focused, reliable, and team-oriented individual. The successful candidate will be required to work a 40-hour week and will be expected to communicate effectively in English.
