Brandt is seeking a skilled Field Heavy Equipment Technician to join our team in Barrie, Ontario. As a Field Heavy Equipment Technician, you will be responsible for the repair and maintenance of construction and forestry based equipment and attachments. Your duties will include evaluating the working condition of equipment, diagnosing issues, assembling and disassembling parts, ordering necessary components, and ensuring all work is performed safely and to accepted standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate the working condition of equipment, diagnose issues, and implement repairs
- Assemble and disassemble parts, order necessary components, and perform maintenance tasks
- Use secondary materials and equipment safely and efficiently
- Document all work on machine information, actions taken, and time taken
- Continuously assess service task hazards and ensure work is performed safely
Required Skills:
- Effective communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to meet physical demands of the role
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous mechanical experience in a heavy equipment environment
- Certified Journeyperson in the Heavy Duty Equipment technician trade
