About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Food Service Supervisor to join our team at District Eleven. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our restaurant, ensuring that our high standards of quality and service are consistently met.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and Coordinate Staff: Lead and manage a team of staff who prepare and portion food, ensuring that they are working efficiently and effectively to meet customer demands.
  • Train and Develop Staff: Provide training and coaching to staff on job duties, sanitation and safety procedures, and other essential skills to ensure they are equipped to perform their roles.
  • Inventory Management: Estimate and manage inventory levels of ingredients and supplies, ensuring that we have sufficient stock to meet customer demand while minimizing waste.
  • Quality Control: Ensure that all food and service meet our high standards of quality, taste, and presentation.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of stock, repairs, sales, and wastage, providing valuable insights for future planning and decision-making.
  • Scheduling: Establish and manage work schedules to ensure that our team is adequately staffed to meet customer demand.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Support for Newcomers and Refugees: Assist with the settlement needs of newcomers and refugees, including housing, transportation, and other essential services.
  • Support for Indigenous People: Offer mentorship, coaching, and networking opportunities to Indigenous workers, and provide cultural competency training to all employees to create a welcoming work environment.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a similar role
  • Work Setting: Restaurant environment
  • Work Language: English
  • Hours: 30 to 40 hours per week
