We are seeking an experienced Heavy Vehicle Operator to join our team at Sandpiper Truck Services Ltd. as a Logistics Specialist. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of goods across various routes.

About the Role:

This is a permanent position with a competitive salary range of $80,000-$110,000 per year, depending on experience. You will be required to work variable shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, and may be asked to relocate for this position. Key Responsibilities:
  • Safe Transportation of Goods: Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials across various routes, adhering to all safety regulations and guidelines.
  • Maintenance and Repair: Perform pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections, and oversee all aspects of vehicle maintenance and repair, including brake adjustments and emergency roadside repairs.
  • Loading and Unloading: Load and unload goods in a safe and efficient manner, ensuring the security and safety of cargo.
  • Administrative Tasks: Record cargo information, hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption, as well as receive and relay information to central dispatch.
Requirements:
  • Valid Driver's License: Hold a valid Class 1 or A driver's license, with Air Brakes Endorsement and other necessary certifications.
  • Experience: Have previous experience in the field of heavy vehicle operation, with a proven track record of safe and efficient transportation.
  • Certifications: Possess all necessary certifications, including CPR, First Aid, Hydrogen Sulphide Awareness (H2S), and Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG).
  • Physical Demands: Be able to lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs) and handle heavy loads, with the ability to work in a physically demanding environment.
