We are seeking an experienced Heavy Vehicle Operator to join our team at Sandpiper Truck Services Ltd. as a Logistics Specialist. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of goods across various routes.
About the Role:This is a permanent position with a competitive salary range of $80,000-$110,000 per year, depending on experience. You will be required to work variable shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, and may be asked to relocate for this position. If you are a reliable and team-oriented individual with a valid Class 1 or A driver's license, we encourage you to apply.
Key Responsibilities:- Safe Transportation of Goods: Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials across various routes, adhering to all safety regulations and guidelines.
- Maintenance and Repair: Perform pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections, and oversee all aspects of vehicle maintenance and repair, including brake adjustments and emergency roadside repairs.
- Loading and Unloading: Load and unload goods in a safe and efficient manner, ensuring the security and safety of cargo.
- Administrative Tasks: Record cargo information, hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption, as well as receive and relay information to central dispatch.
- Valid Driver's License: Hold a valid Class 1 or A driver's license, with Air Brakes Endorsement and other necessary certifications.
- Experience: Have previous experience in the field of heavy vehicle operation, with a proven track record of safe and efficient transportation.
- Certifications: Possess all necessary certifications, including CPR, First Aid, Hydrogen Sulphide Awareness (H2S), and Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG).
- Physical Demands: Be able to lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs) and handle heavy loads, with the ability to work in a physically demanding environment.
