Lead Infection Prevention and Control Nurse

At Glen Rouge Community, we are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Infection Prevention and Control Nurse to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the health and well-being of our residents.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement infection prevention and control programs to prevent the spread of infectious diseases.
  • Provide guidance and support to front-line staff on infection prevention and control practices.
  • Conduct surveillance and investigations of infections to identify trends and patterns.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop and implement strategies to prevent outbreaks and epidemics.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest infection prevention and control guidelines and best practices.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of three years' experience in geriatrics in a clinical health setting.
  • Completion of Basic Infection Prevention and Control Courses or willingness to obtain in a timeframe identified.
  • Certification in Infection Prevention & Control (CIC) or Associate Infection Prevention and Control Certification (A-IPC) – or willingness to obtain within a timeframe identified.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Advanced computer skills (e.g. Word, Excel).
