We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team at BC Children's Mental Health. As a key member of our multidisciplinary care team, you will provide high-quality nursing care to patients with behavioral, emotional, and psychiatric presentations.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide and coordinate nursing care services, including patient assessment, patient and family teaching, and health promotion activities.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to evaluate patient care and make informed decisions.
- Teach and educate patients and families on health-related topics and provide emotional support.
- Participate in the orientation and continuing education of staff and students.
- Act as a clinical resource and support person to patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and operational requirements.
- Graduation from an approved School of Nursing with current practicing registration as an RN or RPN with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
- One (1) year of recent related clinical experience working within a child and/or youth mental health setting.
- Knowledge of the diagnosis and treatment of behavioral, social, emotional, and mental health/psychiatric problems in children and youth.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to relate effectively to children/adolescents and their families.
- Ability to participate as a member of a multidisciplinary care team and work independently.
