Job Overview

Pomerleau, Inc. is a leading construction company seeking a skilled Procurement Specialist to join our team. This role will be based on the CCQ site and requires strong communication and organizational skills.

About the Job

The Site Buyer/Mechanicals and Procurement position is responsible for working closely with the mechanical superintendent and/or project manager to ensure supplies are obtained as needed. As a member of our civil engineering & infrastructure team, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the success of our construction projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Receive purchasing requests from Mechanical Superintendent, General Superintendent, and Project Manager;
  • Participate in daily coordination meetings;
  • Purchase various construction materials, rental services, and mechanical parts;
  • Place and follow up on purchase orders;
  • Research and request quotes from local and nearby suppliers;
  • Receive goods and replenish site inventory;
  • Follow up on out-of-stock products, reconcile delivery notes with purchase orders, and approve invoices;
  • Organize occasional transport of materials and mechanical parts;
  • Obtain the services of local subcontractors for specific needs (snow removal, fuel, waste management);
  • Adhere to safety procedures to ensure compliance with company and construction industry standards;
  • Work as part of a team, maintaining a pleasant and trusting work environment, communicating effectively with colleagues and other trades on site;
  • Perform all other related tasks.

Requirements

  • A valid CCQ card;
  • An ASP Construction & WHMIS 2015 card;
  • A minimum of 3 years experience in a similar position;
  • AEC in procurement management and/or a DEC in accounting and management and/or equivalent experience;
  • General knowledge of heavy equipment and civil engineering;
  • Mastery of Excel software;
  • Knowledge of site materials and construction tools;
  • Sense of organization and priorities.
