Job Responsibilities
As an Intermediate Structural Engineer with Entuitive, you will be responsible for:
- Developing structural engineering designs and calculations for various building components, including columns, beams, slabs, foundations, and lateral systems.
- Applying expertise in materials such as structural steel, concrete, masonry, cold-formed structural steel, and wood to create efficient and safe designs.
- Collaborating with our BIM technologists and engineering team to assemble, coordinate, and review engineering drawings and contract documents.
- Conducting site reviews and managing contract administration duties.
- Preparing project-related correspondence and participating in client meetings to address design issues and provide project updates.
- Reviewing architectural, electrical, mechanical, and structural drawings to ensure consistency and accuracy.
- Utilizing quality assurance tools and completing checklists as required.
- Mentoring junior staff members on design and delivery aspects of projects to maintain high standards.
Requirements
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- An engineering degree with a focus on civil and structural engineering, coupled with 4-8 years of professional experience in the AEC industry.
- Professional engineering status in the Province of Alberta, either achieved or in progress.
- Knowledge of applicable building codes.
- Strong project management skills, with a proven track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and structural analysis software, such as SAP2000 or RAM.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with project stakeholders and clients.
- Able to manage multiple tasks, priorities, and deliverables simultaneously.
- Awareness of embodied carbon considerations is a valuable asset.
