Sustainable Project Specialist
We are a national leader in the construction industry, specializing in building, civil and infrastructure projects throughout Canada. With over 60 years of experience, our team has worked hard to build amazing communities and provide an environment where employees can learn, develop and thrive.
Job DescriptionAs a Construction Environmental Advisor at Pomerleau, you will play a pivotal role in supporting project teams in ensuring environmental and contractual compliance of our projects. You will have the opportunity to provide guidance, support and assistance to ensure legislative compliance, navigate regulatory authorities, and craft environmental plans focusing on environmental protection, erosion control, and waste management.
You will provide expertise and strategic advice in areas relating to water quality, sensitive habitats, or contaminated soil to our project teams. Additionally, you will masterfully coordinate field teams in deploying environmental corrective actions with precision and act as the subject matter expert in all areas relating to the environment, both internally and externally with clients and trade partners.
One of your key responsibilities will be to strategically support our Indigenous participation plans, helping to weave their knowledge into our projects. You will take pride in verifying and documenting the work of internal and external teams, walking sites, and ensuring environmental standards and green codes are followed.
You will manage environmental KPIs by consistently reviewing for non-conformities, spills, and best practices, sounding the alarm if the eco-path veers off. This role requires an educational background in an environmental discipline, Qualified Environmental Professional (QEP) certification in BC or eligibility to become a QEP within 6 months, and 3+ years of work experience in a similar or related role within the construction industry.
Your hands-on experience with sampling, erosion, sediment control, and previous exposure to assessing sampling data for project compliance will be highly valuable. LEED or sustainable building certifications would be an asset.
What We OfferAt Pomerleau, we offer competitive salaries ranging from $90,000 to upwards of $140,000 based on location and experience, along with a comprehensive benefits package that includes health and dental insurance, retirement savings plan, and paid time off. We are committed to adapting and providing special accommodations to anyone with disabilities throughout any stage of the recruitment process.
