We are seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to join our Acquired Brain Injury Services team at Fraser Health. As an Occupational Therapist, you will provide specialized community-based occupational therapy services to individuals with Acquired Brain Injury (ABI), and work collaboratively with colleagues, clients, and caregivers to develop individual treatment goals.
Key Responsibilities- Provide occupational therapy assessment, consultation, and interventions to referred clients to maximize physical function and promote independence and safety.
- Develop and monitor treatment rehabilitation plans for ABI clients, and provide clinical services to an assigned individual caseload.
- Act as a consultant/resource to the family, care team, and community agencies in the provision of rehabilitation services, and recommend appropriate community resources.
- Develop and monitor rehabilitation services to meet the rehabilitation needs of ABI clients, and liaise with program areas and other community agencies to facilitate the integration of rehabilitation strategies.
- Participate in quality improvement and risk management activities for Acquired Brain Injury Services, and evaluate clinical practice to generate recommendations for alternative approaches.
- Graduation from an accredited school of Occupational Therapy.
- Two years' recent, related experience in ABI or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Current full registration with the College of Occupational Therapists of British Columbia (COTBC).
- Eligible for membership in the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists (CAOT-BC).
- Valid B.C. driver's license and access to a personal vehicle for business-related purposes.
- Knowledge of the broad health system, community resources, and volunteer agencies, and their roles and responsibilities in providing a continuum of care.
- Knowledge of disability issues and the needs of adults living with permanent injury and illness.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation, standards, and policies.
- Comprehensive knowledge of rehabilitation practices in ABI rehabilitation.
