Job Title: Accounting Technician

Job Summary:

The Regional District of Kootenay Boundary is seeking a highly skilled Accounting Technician to join our Finance team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing financial support and services to our organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare monthly bank reconciliations and review sub-ledger and general ledger control accounts
  • Process journal entries and prepare reports, returns, and remittances for government agencies
  • Provide training in payroll, accounts receivable, and accounts payable processes
  • Work collaboratively with the Finance team to achieve departmental goals

Requirements:

  • Undergraduate degree in accounting or business administration, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • At least 3 years of experience in a related role, preferably in a local government or large organization
  • Working knowledge of PSAB, Community Charter, and Local Government Act
  • Experience with Vadim/iCity is considered an asset
  • Significant skill with Microsoft Excel and proficient skill with other Microsoft products
