About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Emergency Nurse Specialist to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for a registered nurse to work in a dynamic environment with a talented team of healthcare professionals. The successful candidate will have excellent clinical assessment skills, be able to function effectively in emergency situations, and possess strong communication and documentation skills.
Responsibilities
The primary role of this position will be to provide nursing care to patients in the Emergency Department, with a focus on prioritizing patients seeking care related to Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence. The successful candidate will also be responsible for completing follow-up with clients during evening hours, participating in outreach within the community, and assisting with daily operations.
Requirements
To be considered for this position, applicants must have a current Certificate of Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario as a Registered Nurse. A minimum of two years of recent clinical experience in the Emergency, ICU, or step-down units is required. Current BCLS certification, ACLS, and PALS are preferred. The successful candidate must also demonstrate the ability to competently assess patients, intervene appropriately, and function effectively in emergency situations. Experience and skill in adult venipuncture, general physical assessment skills, and knowledge of women's health are also essential.
