Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Civil Engineer to join our team at an innovative industry leading company that provides engineering services to the electric and telecom utility industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure the technical quality of engineering work products prepared by Junior Engineers, including Computer Models, Spreadsheet calculations, Design Reports, Drawings, and Site Visit Assessments.
- Prepare layouts, conceptual designs, calculations, illustrations for distribution and transmission civil/structural projects, focusing on underground structure design and structural/dimensional calculations.
- Assist in project coordination, strategic planning, client support, and business analysis to support the business development and project management departments.
- Support documentation process for projects, including technical specifications, tender documents, technical reports, and project calculations.
- Perform site visits to project locations.
Requirements:
- A degree in civil engineering from a recognized engineering educational institution, specializing in Structural Engineering for steel and concrete designs.
- Civil engineering design experience in an electrical utility environment is preferred.
- Knowledge of Electrical Utility Civil standards and Power Transmission and Distribution networks and standards is an asset.
- Experience with finite element modeling and analysis is required.
- A Class 5 driver's license is necessary.
